You can find some good deals on eBay but you have to shop for them. You can also get some junk if you don't look at the pics closely. Sometimes it is hard to spot defects in the pics. You just have to use your better judgment. I have found some good Wade & Butcher deals on there because people just missed them or whatever the situation. Don't get disappointed if you made a bad deal, just shop around a lot more. Their out there, you just have to be really picky.

As Johnus said, don't set out to remove the nick on your 1K. It's pretty tiny. I'm betting after setting the bevel, there isn't much nick left, and if a tiny nick does remain, it's probably not going to interfere with getting a great shave. No need taking off metal if not necessary.

Le Grelots are fantastic shavers-you're gonna love it.

Congradulations. On both your win and your new addiction. You have been warned, I will say it straight forward "Do you research here first." "Go to the library and read, and look at the images of whats in the library." I spent so much money on junk before I started researching . Quality brands, Slim Shady pictures or lack thereof, If you cant see all of a straight or the images aint crispy, you are about to get hustled or use alot of muscle fixing it. Let the fun begin and once again congrats

Looks like a very nice razor. Just a thought, if it is your first, maybe worth sending it for a pro hone from one of the members here.

It isn't my first. I have a large collection I'm just new on here & I have all my own honing stones including Select Coticule. I restore razors & I have a good one to show in a few days. Last night I won a double bladed straight on eBay. I couldn't believe it, I was the only bidder on it but it was late last night. I'll be showing it off plus it will need a new set of bone scales which I do have some bleached white bone here so I will make some new scales for it then show it off again! Thank you anyway!
