Cell Rot fix
Attachment 175721
I had twin International Cutlery "DIAMOND" razors in the bottom of my pile and discovered what appeared to be cell rot. I immediately removed the scales, put them in a box and sent them to mycarver. For the new scales we decided on streaked blonde horn with red accents.
I could have restored these myself but I always wanted a resto by Mark and now I will have a matched pair. It's a given that he will do a more perfect job than I would have done. All the better.
They are a matched pair but one has a thinner monkey tail than the other. Let's name them "little tail' and "big tail".
I expect they will be in the return mail Monday. I am very anxious to see how those horn scales feel in my fingers.
Photos are in the post below. Thanks for looking. Enjoy...............:chapeau

I think we made a good choice. These photos were taken by Mark - "mycarver".

A huge aesthetic improvement. Plus you have the peace of mind of not having to worry about the celluloid wreaking havoc on your blades.

I like those very much. The design is similar to scales I make & I think they are one of the better designs although I do like others as well but those are very similar to my favorite plus I like making them out of horn a lot. I also like bone. I have some bleached white bone laying around & I expect it won't be long before I make some bone scales. That is a job well done, my hat goes off to mycarver!

Very classy. Huge improvement.

Very nice, they look great.

Would not have expected anything less than perfect from My carver. The man is a true artist in all sense of the word. Does superior work. They look great. Enjoy.

I saw the thread title and was preparing to break the news that there is no fix for cellrot but then I saw the contents of the thread.
That is a very nice "fix".

Very pretty work. Not flashy, but rich colors with deep tints.
