    Default Flea Market finds

Scored these at a flea market in Vermont yesterday. Dubl Duck Goldedge, Jos. Allen Medium Hollow Ground, two Wade & Butchers with horn scales in a double coffin, SSA from Eskilstuna, Schiffbauer from Solingen, Wester Bros, Fernando Messer (?), and M. Jung with bone scales. I especially like the rack and I'm hoping to clean it up a bit. One question: the scales on all of these are in good shape. What do you think is better: original scales that are polished up, or new scales in horn or an exotic wood?

Nice score. I alway try to save the original scales , but some blades deserve better.

Regarding the scales, I'd do whatever you would like to shave with. I have had a few restored by gssixgun, but if the original scales were in OK shape, I just hold on to them, so if I ever resell, I can offer them with the razor. But if the scales are something different than the typical horn and have original pins/washers etc I'd leave it as is.
It's nice to be important, but more important to be nice

Amazing score, now the fun begins. Any ideas for them?

I lean towards cleaning up the originals, but it's all a matter of preference.
The older I get the more I realize how little I actually know.
