1830-37 London razor - Vining
Couldn't believe I got this for $11 on open bidding on ebay. It is the first one I have seen, traced to Richard Vining, 125 Regent Street, London. The directory entries I found for him were for 1842 and 1852, listed as a cutler, but this one dates earlier by the crown stamping. What's even more fantastic is that the un-scratched parts of the blade (the tang and most of the face) retain their original crocus mirror polish. I wouldn't call it a travel razor, but it is a bit diminutive.
