That one has seen better days. Can't wait to see what it looks like after you get it cleaned up.
The rescue is half the fun.

Great JOB !!!
:w That's a relief, I was going to go ballistic there for a minute...
Nice work!
Now all you need to do is match the paint in the scale etching & paint over it, then sand it down with some very fine sandpaper! It would look like a new razor!
Something like this?:

Nice work ed, its come up looking very good. I like this sort of restore.
how big is it, looks about 7/8 or so.
I got loaned a pipe a while back, it was a nice shave.
Yeah, restores don't have to look brand new like some of the custom restorations. I like some to look old.
Here's a Northfield Cutlery straight I did a few months ago. When I first got it, it had broken horn scales & the "flower pedal" looking washers on it. There were only two of those washers so I ended up buying the cateye washers to substitute for them. I found a razor on the bay that had a bad blade but it had these scales on it which were exactly like the originals & nobody wanted it because of the blade, so I picked it up for cheap. I cleaned up this blade some & honed it. This is the results.
Shaved with this today.
WOW! :tu
SMOOTH AS BUTTER!
