finally i can show this beauty

this started with a message from ScienceGuy ! who I cant even explain how grateful I am or excited I am (adrenalin was and still is through the roof !!) to have obtained this razor !! and was then sent to Glen (gssixgun) for a hone !! I think this is the one of the first razors I received that needed honed that I didn't do it myself ! but honestly and admitting I didn't feel comfortable or skilled enough to attempt this one my own and ruin something with such history and soul that comes with razors of this time period !! no makers mark left but with the info given to me from ScienceGuy it is leading to that pre-1800's era French razor !! so after looking at thread after thread of these fabulous razors and telling myself I "HAVE" to have one and always coming up short !! I can now say I own one !!! now without further ramblings of excitement I now share my new piece !!
may it shave many more years !!( but for sure it will tonight )

Nice! Some razors should not be buffed or re-scaled.

I may be new to straight razors, but there's a certain beauty in seeing such an old razor that shows it's age in the way this one does!

I have a very old pre 1800 Acer fondu also that is fully original and still shaves great

Very nice, a razor from the 1700's is exciting, that's really going back, I've been gazing at a few myself...great addition to your collection without question.

ive been thinking about that since the razor touched my hands a couple weeks ago !! each side of the scales has numerous marks of names or numbers ( cant make any of them out ) that I would bet are from different times of this razors life , in a more modern razor when I see names in horn or such I scratch my head and ask why even though I know to many it is a tool , but this one I haven't questioned or even thought about why as it adds so much character to it all !!!

Congrats my Greave's friend. I love shaving with old relics like that! You don't know who used it that long ago & even if they weren't well known, it would be nice to talk to them today about the times!!!
