Good looking strop.
I'd save my Kanayama and leave the SRD paddle strop behind.
Sorry Lynn :rofl2:

Thats to all for pointing Noxa towards my username - I've received your PM, and will reply shortly with further details!
I should point out that a Facebook account is not required to view my Westholme Strops page. My posts and strop photos are still visible, without having to actually log onto Facebook.
I am hoping to have a website up and running in the next couple of months, as I realise the limitations of a Facebook page!
Best Regards,
Alastair.

Ive had this strop a good few months now and I can say that it truly is a great strop. Obviously Horween make leather perfect for strops but Westholme strops are more than that. I could buy a swatch of Horween shell and cobble together a strop and it would work just as good as Alistairs. Would it be the same? Absolutely not! We buy from artisans because of the craftsmanship, because they believe in their product and good enough is just not good enough!
My strop has a 20" x 2.75" stropping area. I usually prefer a 2.5" wide strop but this one was a stock item and I couldn't resist!
I am most surprised by the latigo. As I mentioned before its nothing like the oily, heavy draw of old latigo, it is thiner, less oiler and has a medium light draw. I would place it between the secondary Kanayama component and shell in terms of draw. The shell is not as glassy as the Kanayama cordovan but very similar to Neils shell.
All in all a beautiful strop to look at and use.:)
That is a great looking strop, markbignosekelly. Thanks for confirming that it performs as good as it looks.
