Feeling very happy to get my hands on this NOS Otto Fromm 50 Redhead beauty. I was almost reluctant to take her for a ride on the coti, but took the plunge and I'm glad I did. Lovely shave, very nice blade to handle.
She might turn out to be even more special than expected, but I'll keep that part of the story for the coming days (let that anticipation build)... :nj

May I ask if this came with the box & if so what was it made of?

Nice! RedHeads are great shavers. Originally, it had red in the center of the logo. You may want to keep an eye on it.
I have had 4 and they all showed cell rot. JMO.
The box is plastic. Below shows exactly how she arrived - plastic box, razor wrapped in wax paper, some patina on the scale inlay and some not-so-nice green oxidisation of the pins.Quote:

That is why I asked about the box. I bought the same razor and it is in fact a newer model. A re-release if you will, similar for example to say a C-Mon Cadillac which was re-released, the same can be said here. What you have (and I have) is the re- release of the razor. Mine shaves (and looks) just fine so I cannot comment as to it being inferior (or superior) for that matter but it is not a "vintage blade" per se. At least not in the sense of being the original or first run Fromm redHead 50.Quote:

Indeed a newer-production may likely have been made with more modern plastic for the scales than the old, celluloid ones.

She sure does!
Also, the box that it came is is very similar to yours but it is blue.
