    Default Sweet sunday

Day started horrible, broke my crown &sword. So $30 bucks in pocket, off to the antique stores. Found 2 for $20 at one of the stores, hopefully the sheffield can be saved. The arcade needs a good clean and honed. It was nice to find it was an ohio made razor, i thought clauss was the only Ohio razor mfg. But the best part of the day was while on my way home i get a phone call from the mom n pop antique store from the end of the road i live on, well one street over. She tells me they just recieved a razor i might be interested in. She hands me the box when i get there. I see its out of P.A. well thats somthing i dont have. Without opening i ask how much, $6 if i want it, upon opening i see a covered tang, my hart dropped, I've wanted one for some time. Then, I swear. A tear rolled down my cheek as i gave this woman a hug after seeing this mate to my other claussName: uploadfromtaptalk1429476387679.jpg

I am not sure all all but that Sheffield might have cell rot, and all the corrosion on the edge doesn't look good to me but I don't do restores.
until you know I would keep it seperate from your other razors

+1 to what Ed said above. Better safe than sorry when it comes to possible cell rot.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Good luck on the sheffield. You should try to get a bevel set and see where it goes before you put much time into it. The other are very nice, especially the Clauss

You won't like them so much if they ruin the rest of your razors.

Thats plain ole rust started at the chip and ran the length of the blade. Looks shes pretty light brown rust which tells me how deep it ate(not very). Dull the edge, 220 grit both side for 30 minutes and evaluate. I bet you your purchase price it aint cell rot. Breadknife or a less aggresive variant past that chip , bevel set and run with it. She will shave like a dream. Then you can go back and do a more indepth restore. Spine is in good shape so 1 layer of tape post chip removal at bevel set should dial you right in.
