Very nice. I like those scales.
Thanks JSmith 1983.
They're actually a mistake.
Had everything late out and ready to put it together but when I put the first coat of tounge oil on it the scales became chocolate brown.
They are made of teak, wich is usually a golden honey color with dark high lites in the grain. But i liked it so much i changed plans.
Heres a typical color for teak when oiledAttachment 205013Attachment 205014Attachment 205015Attachment 205016Attachment 205017

Almost makes it look like it is countersunk into the scales. I like the look.

Outback, you are gonna be fine. :D We need to get you some pins and collars together. An anvil, small, and a tiny hammer.
Man like you needs to peen! JMHO
Nice work!
Some day I'll peen.
I've been looking around at acrylic, making mycarta, and being in marine business, fiberglass.
And when the ol lady gets back to work and eases the monecular stress,so i can buy the materials. Also looking for brass foil to cut out embelishments and things. Then i can CA some neat things or maybe imbed them in the scales.
Lots of ideas. This way with screws is cheap, and gives me time to try different things without wasting pins.
It has also taught me how to shimm those bent and twisted razors.
You know what i mean, they can be tricky
