Hey all! Just thought I'd share my restored 9/8 Wade and Butcher "Celebrated Hollow Ground Razor". Original restored celluloid scales, wedge, with a set of new pins, with an ornate set on the tang side. Super heavy blade, super fun to shave with. Pictured next to an average 5/8 to show the massive spine on this razor. Let me know what ya think! Restored by Jaime Brice at Hillbilly Stix N' Straights.
Very nice, haven't seen many that were made after 1892 like that one with the England stamp on the tang. They are certainly a big chunk of Sheffield steel.Quote:

You have to edit your post, go advanced I believe until you see a dialog box that allows you to manage attachments, where at the bottom of the screen you will see the photo's that are attached to that post. I know this probably doesn't help, but you can delete the photo's...

Nice - what's the actual length of the blade from heel to toe, do you know if that razor had a barber's notch before, was it modified at all?Quote:

Thank you. No gentlemen, this blade has not been modified. The spacing on the blade between the etching and the heel vs. the etching and the end of the blade are both perfect, it's just easy to confuse it as offcenter as the word "razor" on the far right side of the etching is illegible. Also, the scales are completely original, and the blade fits in perfectly, with certainly no room to spare for a past notch. It doesn't show any signs of modification, and judging by the grind, is in fact, a stock, unmodified razor. :)Quote:
