Old Barber Chair
Hello
I saw this chair at a second hand site pretty cheap and decided to go for it. I called the lady who had it for sale. It was already sold, actually two weeks ago.. She just forgot to delete the ad.. B***h. Oh well thought I wanted to share. Here it is. It made by Axel Christensen, Aarhus (It's the city)

Oh man! What a restore THAT would be! This is something I'll need to keep an eye open for but I doubt these come along often..
Thanks for the pics. Wouldn't it be cool to have in the shave den?! Maybe set up an old 18th-19th century barber shop style...

Yeah and it was cheap less than $100. Such a shame it was already sold :(

Did a Google search.. you would be hard pressed to find a chair like that again. Didn't see anything. But there are some very cool barber chairs out there, don't know how many are for sale, definitely not for a hundred bucks!

I would really like to have a chair like that... love to see it totally restored (and well done)!

Would have been a very nice project to reupholster and restore. Never seen such model before.

Almost 5 years later I was lucky to find one more!! This time it wasn't sold already and now it's mine! It's the same maker as the other chair but this model is a little different.

Congratulations. That is a great score. Some day I will have my man cave set up and it will also have a barber chair. It’s nice to see one that old. You are a lucky man.

I'm so thrilled Shaun, I never thought I would see one again. I think i'll have it professional reupholstered and on the backside it's a little rusty that needs to be restored as well.
It's so hard to find history but I did found some.
Axel was born the 16th of may 1890 in Esbjerg and the year 1920 he was working as a barber. In 1930 he had his own shop and at the same time he was a teacher at the local barber school. He died the 28th of june 1949.

Congratulations. There is some project time in that chair, but when you’re done, you will have quite a treasure.
