Globusmen 50, 6/8 restored by Max
Hi Guys,
A couple of months ago I bought here through the classifieds this Globusmen 50, 6/8.
As the seller mentioned the blade was still covered with factory grease and the factory edge was not shave ready. But more than that, the scales were terribly warped. So it all looked pretty NOS to me; only the ‘new’ was a bit lost on the scales.
So I decided to have Max restore the blade and put on new scales. I opted for the Faux Turtoise and it all turned out very beautiful. We skipped the inlay transfer as Max explained the hassle and risk of it not looking well enough. As restoring to original was not only not possible, but also not my goal, we skipped the 3rd pin as well.
Max told me the blade didn’t need much more than a light buffing and a good honing. And as expected Max did an excellent job on the razor. My first shave with it was right on the spot; no getting used to the new blade, or adapting my passes, just a fine BBS result ;).
Thanks,
Paul
