Size: 47.9 KB I bid on this one when it first came on the bay. I just knew some one would bid on it to but i won it. Don't know much and i didn't ask any questions but from the looks of it i think it will clean up and polish good. they said it had a small chip on the inside of the scales near the wedge. it doesn't show in the photos. Wade and Butcher Sheffield England is on the tang. I don't know when it was made but hoping the scales aren't plastic. The add said 11/16 which is a little larger than the last one i got. anyway i think this one is in my capability of clean up and honing.

Time will tell Roger. It looks like another good project razor. It seems like you are very lucky.

You have a winner coming. The little chip in the scale is visible. That is a common problem for the wedges. They are crammed into a tloo small box and if the scales does not crack at the wedge, it breaks a tiny piece out near the wedge. Horn, bone, and ivory often react alike in that way.

I saw this one too. I was very tempted to bid on it. Glad you got it, without a bidding war. Enjoy and post pics when it comes in.

This one is a 11/16 and bone if i'm not mistaken. there is no hone wear and after I cleaned it I used mineral oil on the blade and scales wrapped in wax paper and set aside for now. I will hone later. the hinge pin was and still is quite tight. don't believe it's been used much and when it was put up I think they took good care that it was dry.

I honed this today and to tell you the truth I like as much as any razor I've had. it honed nicely and handles easy. with the size and shape of the scales and blade it was no problem at all getting the right angle to shave and not scrap. This one will be with mea for awhile.
