Very interesting Gillete, Bob.
What's going on with the diamonds? Are they plugged?

No the diamonds aren't plugged, they are open. The base plate has diamond shaped projections that fit into the top cap diamond shaped openings. There is also a bar between the threaded post and the diamond shaped openings on the top cap that fits the slotted opening of the base plate. I have never seen a Gillette DR that was like this never mind a Canadian one. Was kind of hoping someone might have some info on it.

Could it be a Canadian version of this 1931 Goodwill?

Thanks, that sure do look like it don't it. Now I can go look up Gillette Goodwill razors.

I should have added that I just did a 3 pass test shave using a NOS British Wilkinson Sword blade in her. Talk about a combination that gives a very close but very smooth shave. At a glance I'd say it was an aggressive razor with lots of blade exposure and a decent blade gap. Treat it right though and man what a nice shave.

Looks like you were spot on. There seems to be a few different versions of the Goodwill too. Mines is a beater but man what a shaver.
