I think the corrosion resistant, Anti rust theories seem very plausible.

Pretty cool looking razor...wouldn't mind seeing more of it.
It's probably a book written in invisible ink. Just hold it over a candle for a few minutes and you can read a story about a man and a horse, or maybe a fluffy bunny or something. :p
