I knew if anywhere, it would be someone on here that had one at one time.
Thanks Mr. Rinky Dink! They must be much harder to find now or if some do appear, I never saw 'em.

Dang! It really hurts when my jaw hits the floor like that! What a super score!

I used to have a W & B with a weird tang, but not like those:

The curl of the tang was a bit uneven, I often wondered if someone had heated it and bent it at a later date. Not a particularly comfortable tang to use.

Ya, those are pretty cool Steve. Not sure the average eye would have spotted the fancy tails.

The curl on that tang looks like someone altered it. I have an old W&B the=at has a slightly different tang or tail on it but it was made that way. You can see it here:

You can see the tail points upward at a slightly different angle.

I saw it & my jaw dropped because I wondered who else had seen 'em. Anyway the day came & my sniping worked out rather well. There weren't any bids on 'em the whole time & it seemed rather unusual. I had them set to go & I sniped 'em for $127.50, only two bids! I couldn't believe it. I have never seen any Wade & Butcher Special's with an "improved tang" on them like these. As you can see the tang is slightly longer on them plus they have Ivory scales. I was afraid they would have some broken scales because the seller did not show each one with both sides of them but with the "improved tang" on 'em, if I won them for the right price, it would be a good deal & since Willis also saw them, I told him we would work something out. It all worked out in our favor & they showed up today finally. The tracking said they were out for delivery yesterday & when they didn't show up, I checked the tracking again & it said delivered but they sure didn't get delivered here so I was P'd off! I called the main post office for the whole USA which I have had to do before because my branch is always delivering things to the wrong address. I get other people's mail here all the time.
Anyway, I'm so glad I got 'em & that the scales weren't broken. They were from a seven day set or maybe different because three of them say Curley NY "Aristos" on 'em. There are two that don't say anything on the blades & they are Sunday & Monday. The other three are Wednesday, Thursday & Friday so I don't know if they came from a collectors estate & if they are from two different sets. The Sunday & Monday are actually between 11/16" & 6/8" but the other three are 6/8".

Bill, I would bet those are the same guys that had the Curley razor that was made in Sheffield & then they had a New York one also.

Nice score engine46 at a very reasonable price. It's a good thing I didn't see those or I would have fought you for them. Perhaps they were from a barbers set and Sunday and Monday are marked different because those a the traditional barbers days off?
