Had the day off work on Friday.
While sitting at the table enjoying my morning cup of joe, I made up my mind to go back to the antique store to get the Ever Ready shave brush I seen a couple weeks earlier.
But before I left, the mail man came through. Checked the mail, here's a package from AlanQ. He had sent me his grandfathers razor to me to be repaired and cleaned up. I was suprised to see it in three days, being he's from Quebec. When I reached the antique store, the brush was still there, but it was sitting in a shave mug this time. Asked the man what he was asking for it,
he says $8. Sold!!, and out the door I went.
Then today... I went to the local flea market, knowing there would be a bunch of vendors there cause the weather was so nice. Ended up finding two razors and a strop.
A 11/16th garantie solingen for$3, and a 11/16 Wade & Butcher Special for, hehe $7. Not sure who made the stop, but I could make out genuine Russian tanage, for $10. Mainly needs a little neats foot oil, still flexible just a little dry on the surface, and a few nicks in the edge near the end where you would hold onto it.
When I got home from the flea market I see a usps medium flat rate box next to the back door.
Its a pakage from Steve, (Engine46) it wasnt supposed to arrive till Monday. He's been loading me up a box for some time for a pinning anvil I made for him last year. He would send me a PM every now and then telling me he was still collecting things for the box, and would send it soon, but not till he had everything he wanted to send me, in it. Told him, no rush brother, take your time not planning on going anywhere. He kept telling me, your gonna like what I'm putting in the box.
Hehehe..... Boy he wasnt kidding!!!
Here's what I got at the antique store and flea market.
