Lucky man.
Still looking for a turner, or Taylor bros out of Hamilton.
Good idea on the sharpie before sanding to see what you are working with sir.
:tu
I have a Taylor Brothers, and a Jones Bros Montreal, the Turner with a clear etch is still on my shopping list. I have to admit I have not looked very hard for a while. That looks like a great etch with the sharpie on there. You can do the same thing with bluing or Jax and it is a little more durable. I would want to do those scales in something Canadian, like a local antler or Bison horn. I have been looking for an excuse to buy some Bison horn and make scales out of it. I have my feelers out for some Musk-Ox but it has not shown up yet. I look forward to seeing your finished piece.
Scales ,,,Beavers like wood . :beer2:
My Canadian brothers. Fancy dancy scale material is one email away.....Including Musk Ox horn.
walrus tusks narwhal tusk teeth ivory for sale walross zaehne narwal zahn elfenbein verkaufen
I have a genuine Bobcageon born deer antler looking to turn into something as well. A Canuck blade in Canuck scale material, that's a nice idea. Most of my British restore have ended up in horn ordered from the UK as a happy coincidence now that I think bout it. :hmmm:
Yours to try something with if you want.
I like the Musk ox Horn, gonna pick up some.
I saw one of those Thomas Turner's with the beaver on it not long ago on eBay. I have a couple or more Thomas Turner's. One is an Everlasting & another says Cutlers to His Majesties.
