Flea Market Jackpot
A good day at the Flea Market, these two were in a display case and priced right!
The horn scales on one is warped but otherwise they are in great condition.
I'm going to leave the patina alone I like the way they look, I'll just
make them shave ready, add a little neatsfoot oil and be a happy camper.

I love that thumb notch, I love 'em both! Great to hear that you scored them at a flea market, right place at the right time :tu

Sweet blades. Hope they give you many fine shaves.

Super!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Good Deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ty

Two great finds. All I every find is overpriced junk at flea markets.
-
I think jackpot describes it wonderfully.

Man! Two of the best in one felled-swoop! :D
Nice work! :beer1:

Awesome! Congrats on an excellent find!
I actually like the one with the thumb notch far better than the FBU.
-
Didn't you just say you were not buying anything just the other day? :p
Nice score! :tu

Kudos on a great find.
All I ever find are chipped blades. I guess I'm looking in the wrong places.
Really great looking razors.

Wow, that's a beautiful pair of choppers. Prices on 1" blades have gone through the roof when you can find them at all!
-
Sweet moses what a score! I'm pretty sure it's rude to ask, but I am wondering how much. Those would fetch 300-400 on the bay together. I was happy to score a frameback and a broken scaled Joseph Allen this weekend for 25, your score makes mine look like dog doo.

The holy grail...!!!
You lucky dog..congrats!!

The pivot pin didn't look original on the FBU, so I removed the blade. While the blade was removed I clamped the warped horn scales with some shims and dunked them
in hot water (nearly boiling) for about 30 minutes. I let them dry ( clamped) for about 8 hours in the Arizona sun. I replace the pivot pin and now the blade is centered.
Right now the scales are soaking up more Neatsfoot oil. Tomorrow it gets honed and tested.
The guy at the flea market had about 10 more boxes in his display case but I had already spent everything the W&B's. I hope he's there next week.
So how much did I spend on them? Let's say I'm blessed and leave it at that.....

Wow. That's a jackpot, a honeypot, a stew pot, northern lights pot, hell it's all the pots rolled into one. Tremendous find sir. Congrats.
