That knot is a two band from Virginia Sheng John. Set as deep as I did it really gained density. It was sold as a 30 mm, and might have been as measured at the base of the glue but after trying a few different Chinese vendors, I have found the VS the best knots outside the shavemac family. I buy them longer loft and set them deep, 15-20 mm deep. In your brushes case as deep as the copper ballistic gelly band..
Very nice work B52!
Wow!! That has got to be the coolest brush I've ever seen and it looks the quality is unreal too! Well done, that is a piece of art!
Wicked Brush you made, Mike!
Wonderful job:!!!

Thanks gents. The design worked well with a big knot. I appreciated Johns patience in waiting to receive it, as well as full creative flexibility on the project.
The risky/challenging thing about the whole barter and trust your fellow man thing in this world wide forum, is there are no guarantees.
There's another interesting thread about paying it forward/back and how we interact with each other on here that got me thinking about it actually.
When you offer something forward, there's always the chance of getting burned. Been there a few times myself since starting this very hobby. Hurts a bit it does, feel stupid, question your judgement, harden off a bit more maybe. But stop doing it? Well that's the crossroad ain't it?
Clearly, Some do harden off, but some,,like John don't. He took my request for a case and ran with it, no questions asked, no money changed hands, never even met in person. Only agreement on the brush was he was ok with a Big knot. Months between then and now go by. A simple brush became over complicated in my mind and I took way to long to get the items needed to make it real.
Well, he had no idea what I was making, since I didn't even know if I could make it, but he never seemed to loose faith he was receiving it. And if it lather da face and makes him smile, hey, less stretching needed to shave and the deal was good for both.
So in summary, at this holiday time of year, and the rest of it too if you can, keep on doing right by each other and we all get better by the company gentlemen.
Oh yea, also try Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey if you can, makes you very chatty on the threads after the wife goes to bed, lol..

Well Mike, I'd have to agree.
I've always kept the code of a mans word, and a hearty handshake. For those two tools have built a many bridges for me in life.
To renig on the code, means total destruction of myself, and all that has been built.
Just can't see myself burning down the empire I've created, and a kingdom of friends.
