agreed. its what i use in-between full shaves when i need to keep the upper cheeks and lower neck trim. i also like the merkur 41c open comb but with a maggard mr5 handle.
looks nice.. set or adjustable?

Very nice handles. I got exactly this set up for a mate who'd never had a traditional wet shave along with a best badger brush and a blade sampler. My skin and beard likes Astras with that blade distance.
I'm going to get one of those one day. I love my Merkur Slant and Mergress. The Slant was my first wetshaving implement.
It's a non adjustable 2 piece. The wilkinson blade in this works a treat. Tried it in my flair tip and ended up doing a dance when I put alum on my neck. That razor works well with Personna blades. I'm not brave enough to take on a slant and I'm not sure I'll get one. I'm wanting to move back to my straights, at least for weekends and days off where I'm not so time pressured.
As long as you don't slide a slant sideways (any single bladed razor for that matter), she's a great shaver. If your technique is off.... it *can* bite you. Excess pressure while shaving is another no-no when using *any* DE, but a slant might just scrape your face a little more if you do that.
To those of us used to shaving with a single blade, open or guarded, keeping it moving in the correct direction, with a light touch, is second nature. To some beginners, moving a razor sideways seems to be safe, but as we all know... it's not. I have seen guys shaving on the television, literally slapping their face with one of those multi-bladed monstrosities.
To the original poster, that Merkur is a fine razor indeed... it's the one I always seem to come back to!
