Old School Scuttle
So I found this old school but very cool scuttle in a antique shop in Oregon. As I later looked it up online, it appears to be a remake of vitnage scuttle (the car is not printed level and there is no gold lining in the lip and base). None the less, it's a pretty cool little scuttle for my kid who just got his first safety razor. Couldn't help picking up the bar of soap next to it.3

Nope. Why do you ask? I have a feeling I am about to learn something new.

I think that Lewy is suggesting that this is a drinking mug and the piece across the top is a guard to prevent dipping said moustache in your beverage.
It does look pretty cool though. Good luck teaching your son the finer art of shaving properly. These times are to be cherished.

You could always grow a moustache and test the theory out firsthand :rofl2:

Lol. Awesome. Oh well. I was laughing with my mom about this and she told me, "It's your cup. You can do whatever you want with it."
Oh well. Learning has occurred. Thanks everyone.

For sure a mustache drinking mug. Late reproduction I think. 1950's maybe. Note the thick heavy walls of the cup. Still a cool cup.
My wife collects tea cups and I was fortunate enough to add some of my families cups to her collection. This mustache cup belonged to my Great-grandfather from Caribou, Maine. Dates to the late 1890's I think.

Maybe they will come back into fashion since facial hair is such a big thing again at the moment.
