    Default 2 I found yesterday

Was out and about yesterday after work and hit some of my local spots. The top one has no tang stamp, but I believe it should still be high carbon steel. typically I'd have let this one go, but it is big. Just under 8/8 and isn't chipped like most I see.

The other is a nice little Henckels 70 1/2 with a bit of a smiling edge. This one should clean up well.

    Nice finds Andrew.
That Golden Crown is big alright. Should make for some fun cleaning.

I'll probably tape off the gold and hit it with oil and steel wool. Hopefully that'll be all it takes.

Nice finds! Good to hear you are out hitting the spots and coming up with a few. The Golden Crown looks like has no hone wear from here, I'd have grabbed that one too.

Both nice finds Andrew. I need to get out some more, it's been awhile. Whats the grind on the Gold Crown?

I don't get to the antique stores as much as I like anymore. I've also found that the razors aren't as plentifull as they use to be.

Great find! I would isolate that big one in a zip loc bag for a few days sealed, crack it open and sniff. If you smell a camphor smell, get the scales off immediately. Blade has some starting signs of being around cell rot. From my phone, I can't tell if those scales are horn or something else. Horn of course won't do this...
