Plan on using this to put all my Imperial razors in after I make some kind of holder for the razors. It's not real (too bad) but its got some nice hinges and looks good.

That’s an awesome box. I love wood boxes. I am curious about this project.
Well, I have 10 different Imperial Razors all with different wood scales. Was hoping to get as many as possible but I know of 2 that I don't have yet. When I get the time to work on this I will post up some pics. Thanks, Shaun.
Looks a lot like a humidor to store cigars,.....beautiful
Even if the outside isn’t real wood, it sure looks great and the inside looks like a real cedar liner. Nice find.
Yes, keep us posted on the finished project. I passed up a similar humidor (the one i found was solid walnut) because i was larger than a razor and i'm always puzzled as to what to do with the extra space (maybe a little OCD too). I guess i want it to look like it was made for razors.
I think it was a humidor. And yes, i think it is Cedar inside. With the way the hinges are it was just to keep junk in so i grabbed it up for $1.99 at goodwill. Sometimes you can find deals there. And i wasnt even looking for it at the time.
That’s a great deal on that humi. Humidors are great for shaving stuff because the cedar just sucks all the humidity in and absorbs it.
I’ve used a humi or two for travel.
Thinking along the lines of Outbacks Racks he makes for his boxes. Now if I got the room for all of them as Sharptonn just sent me another Imperial. :bow
Hmmmm. You got a point. Maybe there is something to it.
That box looks so cool, it gave a good idea as well. I hope to have one in black color.
Uh, Jerry. There's probably more than two, like this one that you don't have.

Dammit Mike. How much you want for it. :)
It will be a looker in Ivory. I will put it on the list of ones to look for. I keep looking for any Imperials i dont have. I just love the shaves i get from them. Found the bycicle one just the other day in decent shape for a fair price.
Hope in the next week or two to pick up a nice piece of wood to put in the box and get started making it. I will make it to hold as many as i can. Even if im short a razor or two. Someday!
Yeah, Jerry, the price will go WAY-UP after that! :D
I've got a few Imperials, and I have no complaints with them. We both have one of the same blades, but yours is in much better condition.

I got a couple of those Mike. I really do like these razors.
Here is the newest one in the collection. got it in the mail today. It's going to need a little work to get rid of some scratches but not bad... Its got a bit of hone ware but for the price, I had to jump on it. This one seems to command a higher price for some reason.

Hoping to get out today and find a nice piece of wood to put in the box to hold the razors. Thinking something dark. Cant make up my mind if I want to cover the cedar in the box with something. Don't think staining it would be a good idea as that would kill its ability to suck up moisture. I think.
Well, Here it is. My 14-day set of Imperials. All with different etchings/stamps, dressed in different woods but matching Rosette Collars, Pins and Bones Wedges. A little custom work on the box for an inserts to hold the razors (thanks for the close-up pics of yours Outback). I will be making a chart to put underneath the felt that says what razors have what wood scales. Plus I still need to get 5 of them honed, but the other 9 are shave ready and have been shaved with at least 3 times each.
It was a crazy idea but I just had to do it. Who in the right mind would need a 14-day set beside someone on a month long trip and didn't want to bring a strop. LOL.
Hope you all like it as much as I had fun putting it together over the last year. And thanks to Leonard for helping me find some of these echings as I didn't have many in the beginning.

Thanks for looking and not giving me a hard time about this idea. I'm probably the only one with a 14-day set. Guess I could sell it on eBay for $5K. Somebody would buy it. LOL.
BTW, Tom, I didn't take the scales off of the one you sent me. It's just as it was. The scales were so nice I didn't want to mess with it. I use it. Not like this set. These might get used once in a while but it was just for fun.

It’s nice to finish a big project. It cam together quite nicely. I guess Tom will have to up his game from sets of seven.
Very nice, Jerry! That is lots of work, there.
Enjoy! :tu
Bravo Jerry!:bow
Congratulations and enjoy!
