Hi, i have this razor and was wondering if anybody had info with regards to age and maker etc as I'm not finding much online (and what I am finding is confusing as there seems to have been several Bucks trading out of the one area!)
Would anyone happen to know the material of the handle and what would be the best way to restore the razor. Many thanks.Attachment 355621

That razor is first class garbage. There is no restoring it.
Unfortunately, no. Sorry to say but that is well beyond restoration.

...for future reference. Welcome to SRP though and if you like this sort of thing there are plenty out there that have not been mistreated and we can help you with information on them. Pity that one has been so mistreated but it is truly done for. Upside is that there were a myriad of them made, millions and maybe 10s or even 100s of millions of them in the centuries they have been made and are STILL being made. If that particular brand interests you then I imagine there are more to be had but look around here and I'm sure you'll find other very interesting ones to fall in love with.
As far as what the scales are made of ...
Bakelite. Nothing out of the ordinary for a straight. They were used for many decades.
The razor was nothing special when it was a razor. Now its trash. Sorry to be blunt.
If your interested in straights find some vintage that are useable or buy from the group here. We will be happy to help you learn.
The wedge and one scale is salvageable to help you in the future.
