Default Cattaraugus Cut Co. "Green Lizard"

Recently, I succumbed to poor judgment and paid too much for a lot of vintage razors. 21 razors in all many of which were dogs. The best of the bunch is the Green Lizard. It's not mint, but it's in excellent condition. A similar Green Lizard razor is pictured on page 106 of the Ritchie & Stewart Razor book 3rd Edition. Mine is in much better condition. I notice the Green Lizard in the book has a light colored spacer while mine has a jet black spacer which I like with the dark green. I have not honed or shaved with it yet. In that same book, Cattaraugus Cut Co. razors seem to have some of the highest base values of any razor (Winchester and Remington and maybe only a few others being higher).

At any rate, the deep lime green scales are very cool.

I agree, I like those scales very much. And just having a razor called "Green Lizard" is pretty cool in itself.

I've got two of these: one is the same as yours (only nicer), with the "Green Lizard" on the front scale; the other has the "Green Lizard" etched onto the front side of the blade.

I've often thought about combining the first one's scales with the second one's blade...
You can have everything, and still not have enough.
I'd give it all up, for just a little more.

They are made of very hard steel like most American razors but once honed up are super razors. I have one also.

I don't know how much you paid for the lot of razors, but that is one sweet little razor, I love the green scales.

That's a good looking razor. Once you get a couple shaves down with her please post an update.

I have a green lizard barber hone and I've been keeping an eye out for a matching razor.
