    Default First time antiqueing.

Picked this Josehp Elliot silver steel today. Ive been wanting one, since ive seen them discussed on here. Everything is original, has horn scales, no knicks or rust. Sorry for the crappy cellphone pic...

    Three? Damn, i jealous!
Im going to clean it up, hug it, love it, then probably send it to one of the honers that are advertised on here, most likely. Ive got a couple others, that also need some honing. This site and the people on it are just way cool!

It seems Al has three of everything. The last time I PMed him about a razor that I thought was quite rare (my Wosty Doubly Carbonized frameback) he said he had three of those as well.

Getting back on topic, regardless of who you send the blades too, you should end a first class shaver. Elliot's Silver Steel blades are fantastic, and I've never met a frameback that didn't take a sick edge.

Congrats on a great find and great price! I don't know why but I always get more excited and am more pleased w/ antique shop finds than I am w/ EBay wins. Guess it's the challenge of the hunt and of course the price! Now that you scored you got the bug, AAD (antiquing acquisition disorder). I think it is an advanced form of RAD.

Good luck in your future hunts!

Nice find! It will look and shave like new with just a little work. I believe that type of frameback blade is the LeCoultre pattern, and it shaves well.

I very much appreciate the info. Luck like this makes me want to go out and turn every antique store upside down, for their goodies. lol
