Lately as I run across boards with some burl in them I've been setting them aside for scales. Awhile back I was planning some walnut and at the end of the board some nice burl showed, so I thought to myself Hmmmm scales?

Great job! The figuring is fantastic.
Very pretty wood! What's the spacer made out of? I'm going to be making a walnut set and I'm debating on what to make the spacer with and I like the contrast you have.
That looks sweet!! The scales compliment the blade well. Those Fillys are great shavers.
Nice job!
Nice job. Beautiful looking wood.
Very nice razor. Those scales look great!
What's the spacer made of? The spacer is a maple wedge with 2 degrees per side. The wedge was already glued in and pinned when the stain was applied. I wanted a bit of red tint to the wood so I used minwax sedona red stain and the maple wedge picked it up. I finished up with 4 coats of polyurethane.
Great job. The scales look very nice. I just finished honing a filarmonica razor today and I can tell its going to be a fantastic shaver.
Very nicely done! :nj As mentioned above the wood compliments the blade very nicely. The pinning looks great also. That is a razor to be proud of. I'm sure you will enjoy your shaves with it.
