Some fellow named Matt. Sapito381 found these at an antique shop and offered to buy and ship to anyone here that wanted them.
That was a class act Matt.

Holy crap, Seth...gorgeous.
If you ever decide they're taking up too much room, look to the west--there's a lovely little shelf in Yamaguchi they'd love. ;)
-
"Can you say AWESOME?"
I've been trying to say awesome But it keeps coming out of my mouth sounding more like bastard...;)
Great snag!!
-
As I read all of your comments; congratulatory and envy alike (in my mind's eye) I picture myself having just finished a rockin' workout of pumping iron and flexing in front of a mirror knodding with a big smile on my face saying 'ohh Yeah!' just like Macho Man Randy Savage. That is where I am at with this set. Ohhh yeah!
-
Wow! You lucky dog. Those are fantastic. I can feel the RAD right now.
-
-
I know I'm GREEN with it.Damn, they are gorgeous!
-
Congratulations!
Those look very nice Seth
-
Wish I coulda kept 'em for myself :D
-
Those are great!!! Enjoy them.
-
Wow, those are absolutely gorgeous. I got a Rodgers a few months ago and it's one of my favorite shavers now.
Those scales look brand new! I am curious if anyone could explain the difference in wording on the razors and the box. Box says "Cutlers to her Majesty" and the blades say "...THEIR MAJESTIES".
-
Yeah, those are gorgeous. If any of you guys find a set similar to that, don't even bother with a thread. Just pm me the payment info. Great score!
-
I gotta say that I honed up one of them the other night and had a chance to shave with it last night .... One of the best I have felt. This is the biggest razor I have handled yet but it gave me no grief. Smooth Smooth Smooth.
I should be able t hone up the other one over the weekend and see if it feels the same. BTW these were/are nearly shave ready as is!! They already pass the HHT and have a very clean bevel. I only touched the other one to my special coticule and that is all it took. I with the tail was a bit longer but that is not a problem.
I hope I never have too sell it but if the time comes that I do, they will serve any man for a lifetime. For now they serve me and I am a happier man for it.
Oh, and nice catch on the 'her' and 'their' difference. I would have never noticed. It is interesting though.
-
Oh my goodness....my heart stuttered for a second when I saw these classy behemoths. If you only had two razors for a lifetime of shaving, those Rodgers would serve with distinction. Congratulations!

+1! Those two make a very interesting and unique set. Enjoy your shaves with those beauties! :tu :tu
-
Absolute Stunnas ! 2 ups from me 2 :tu :tu

I have to report that they both honed up extremely well and the edge they took was phenominal.
I honed one only on a coticule and cro oxide and tested it. Very nice.
The other I started at #3000 Chosera and then #5000 Chosera and then the coticule and cro ox. The inclusion of the Chosera has made an already awesome razor even awesomer!!
The second method was the sweet spot. I had four days of growth and a two pass BBS. :D
-
those look great...all i can really say is "not fair, not fair that i do not have them:rant:..good luck with the straights...

You should have kept them..... then sent them to me.
-
I would love to have just one of those beauties ... and you have two of them in a box set. Fighting the urge to be jealous. :-)

They make the pair of BLUE WONDERS I picked up look like some kids toy razors that were made in China!
Damn I,m drooling on my keyboard:)

My friend the deal you got on your kit was unbeatable. Especially now that we know about the hone. Your blue wonders look like great razors too, even if the J. Rodgers has them beat in cool factor.

Thank,s for trying to make me feel better, but it,s not just the BIG BOLD razors, it,s also the leather clad box, the plush interior, the gold script, the small brass latch DOH! I,m drooling again.
