First a vintage LeGrelot wedge (no Thiers-Issard involvement on these). The 5/8 has some remains of the etching 'recommended for tough beards' along with tiny surface pits that it required. Lovely horn scales

Then comes the what I believe is the 6/8 version of it, but it measures just under 7/8

Then a Joseph Smith that got a cocobolo scales, which surprizingly I actually like. The spine is worked only on the front side, I don't think I've seen another like that, but it makes sense and I suppose they may be more vintage razors done this way

These are some absolute beauties, you've inspired me to look for things to get restored and rescaled with max pronto... Yes we'd like to know is the butterscotchy scales on the second scales micarta? really beautiful razors and work!

yes, all of them except the wingfield&rowbottam are shoulderless.

and yes the larger le grlot has butterscotch micarta scales.

Yeah, somebody has been bugging me for one of these for almost half a year now, so now that both were made to look nice I let him have it.

It's like a round point, except at the heal - I find it easier to "dig" with the heal of a shoulderless blade. If the razor is full hollow, the blade will be freer to flex because there is no stabilizer. When honing, you don't have to worry about the shoulder digging into the hone.
