Couple of nice vintage pieces.
A couple of recent ebay acquisitions. A Mappin Brothers 'Lancet' is the first up. Mappin Brothers eventually became Mappin & Webb. This razor looks like a frameback from the side but is actually forged in one piece. A bit of hone wear but no chipping on the edge thankfully. Honed up nicely and shaves well. Has registered 1848 stamped on the blade along with the Mappin Brothers, Sheffield logo.
Next a great looking, IMHO, Wade & Butcher with a beautifully etched blade, the Celebrated Damascus Razor. I had to hone a little micro chipping out of him but honed up to a superb shave. Love the French point .... unless it is an Irish ..... oh well let's forget that. :D Pardon my toes in the third photo. It wasn't done intentionally. :o
