Well, I'll have pics up soon, but I put a gamble on an ebay lot... It ended up costing me 80$ for 10 razors and a durnham duplex... I figured I'd come out ahead... Maybe..
Holy crap was I right
First thing I unwrap: A wostenholm frameback with a stub tail. all I can read on the tang is IXL, 1850, and No. 2434. However, the frame says Geo Wostenholm & son's Doubly carbonized IXL Razor, and the blade is frosted to say Damascus steel with a sweet spiral pattern in it that I'm going to try to photograph. This is worth the 80 to me, alone.
However, after that I found (in no particular order):
A very near wedge Joseph Elliot's silver steel with a thumb and barber notch, and very little blemishes... This thing still has a near mirror finish, outside of the stains, and a cool beveled spine.
An extremely near wedge torrey that just needs a touch of buffing
Nameless german razor
WH. Morley with a slight frown (may not be saveable, but it's extra scales)
WM Elliot from germany. blade is pitted, may be trash, but the scales have a nice inlay of a dragonfly.
A Wade and butcher with a seriously overhoned toe (but its still honeable, just misshapen)
A small wade and butcher with gunk on the blade
Another german one with broken scales and an unreadable stamp
And, Lastly, a Wade and Butcher Special in good condition.
Wintastic haul.
