Just picked up off the bay for a" Buy it Now" price of Twenty Three Bucks, she has some hone wear but for the price I couldn't pass it up. Don't have a Henckels yet, guess I do now

I thoroughly enjoy the shaves I get from my Henckels. Hope yours is as good.
Now, that is a great pick Blugill :tu. These blades are really awesome shavers. Fantastic edges
PS: Any luck with picking up a Swedish blade? A Henckels and a Swedish blade like a Heljestrand is a must in any collection. One down, one to go :).
You should enjoy that blade very much, as they are great shavers. I have a interesting blade that has the same scales (mottled and surface checking) and am not sure if I want to replace them or not. Sure gives it it's own character...
I had an anti-henckels bias from their kitchen cutlery - until I tried a really fine example of one of their razors. I bought, posted, thinking the scales were ivory and was advised it probably wasn't. 'Disappointing, but the real eye-opener was the shave. I LOVE my Genco, but the Henckel was probably the only edge I liked as well. It took an edge with ease, partially 'cause there was virtually no hone wear or abuse to correct. The most course stone it saw was an 8k for 8 laps - then 12k & asagi. Wonderfully smooth and keen.
I think you're gonna be a happy guy, 'Gill.
Yeah this one has seen a hone a time or two but the guy said it was still just a touch under 6/8's and the tarnish wasn't as much as the pics made it out to be. He also said I could return it if I didn't like it, but I'm sure I will be happy with it. Thanks Pink
That Henckels Platinum is going to be a great shaver when cleaned up and honed. The edge looks good and the square point has been rounded to avoid cuts. You definitely got your moneys worth!
FANTABULOUS score Mark. They are fantastic shavers. Enjoy:tu
