I found myself a few new projects in the wild today. Went to an antique store and they had a big glass jar full of old razors, so I picked out a few which I found interesting enough to restore.
Three VERY old wedges, a RH & sons (I make it about 1800 or so? Any of you guys got any info?), a Wade + Butcher (with scales made of what looks to be Gutta Percha, so 1850's?) and a William Revitt "real Damascus steel". Also got a Boker Red Injun which had a comb guard firmly rusted onto the blade. A bit of WD40 and some persuasion got it off.
They are all in very "challenging" condition, I know. But the wedges are far older than anything I am using now, so they will be worth the effort if I can get them shaving again.
Any info you guys could provide about these would be greatly appreciated
