    Default My Small Collection

I took pics of my small, inherited collection today. All are in OK condition. My father kept them in the attic and never took care of them. Just thought I'd let them see the light of day and let those who appreciate these tools have a look at them. If I have anything interesting please let me know. Below is the list, in order of pics attached (I hope).

    1) “The Williams", Williams Razor Company, Worcester, Mass
    2) STEEL KING, Registered in Germany, Wester Bros, Solingn-Germany
    3) The Three Bells, Joseph Katter, Fort Smith, Ark
    4) F.W. Sonderen, Eskilstuna, Garanti
    5) "___ Celebrated" Hollow Ground Razor for Barbers Use, Frederick Reynolds, Sheffield
    6) Carborundum Razor Hone
    7) XLNT, A.W. Wadsworth & Son, Germany
    8) ACM, Aerial Cutlery Manufacturing, Company, Marinette, Wis.
    9) The Small Collection

Nice inheritance...please oil the razors up. I would like to make mention that we don't sell here in this thread and if that is your intention you should post them in the classified's. If you are just showing us some razor porn...thank you.

The one with the bridge is cool and I know a bit about it. It is from the Ariel Cutlery co in Marinette, Wisconsin. The founder of the company was from Duluth, Minn. and the bridge is the Duluth motor bridge(seems I am not spelling Duluth right?). Anyway, google the bridge and see about it. An old engineering feat which I think is still in use!

That's cool about the ACM razor. It is a really nice detail...ahh the good old days...when the average joe could purchase something of high quality.

Shooter, just put the pics up for everyone to see. Yes, razor porn! Not really looking to sell, but maybe I should post the pics over there to see what happens.

I don't even know if these have anything more than personal value. It would also be really cool if there was some sort of historical significance to any part of the collection. These items are just too nice to keep in a box. They haven't seen the light of day for probably 40 or more years. There are a couple of other safety razors, a Burma Shave mug (ca. 1980's) and this other interesting 'shaver', The Hombre - the personal barber. Didn't put those up because they aren't straight razor related. I know where the original strop is (or was) that was used with these razors too. My uncle had it, he passed away a couple of years ago, but not sure what my cousin might have done with it. Oh well.

The F.W. Sonderen is, I think, the nicest razor in the bunch. The handle/guard/cover looks like bone or ivory. I'm not sure, could just be bak-a-lite. It just looks to be a very finely crafted tool. The razor feels very light, yet it has mass, it feels substantial when you hold...if that makes sense.
