Razor Find in Norway
So i was in Norway yesterday with my family and gf, we went into this antique store and ofc i was looking all over for some nice old straight razors:) although i couldent find any, and when we were about to leave my mom asked me if she should to ask if they had any and i was all like nah they probably dont have them anyway. So she asked them anyway and this is what i found when she asked:D.. a sheffield some swedish razors and a PeWe? i think it says so on the tang. They was in realy good shape just some sanding and honing needed execpt the one on the bottom they said i could have it anyway. And it costed 15 bucks:) i think i finaly made a good score here. ill upload some pictures of them restored later.

So, you went to Norway, and basically stole them from right under my nose?
Man, why can't I find something like this in my own country?
Nah, just kidding, looks like a good score, and quite the steal money wise.
Congrats!

Yup i sure did:D ill tell you the name of the shop as soon as i remember it:P hehehe i think they had some left and if i dont remember completly wrong they said they take some in every now and then beacause they had some collector comming there some times so its a good chance to get some nice razors cheap.

I would surely appreciate the name on that store.
The couple of places i know of, rarely have anything shaving related.
I've actually found more on the west coast of Sweden to be honest.

the name os the place is "ullern gaar" and is located in "skarnes kongsvinger". Oh realy? Where on the west coast?

Great, thanks!!
I've found a couple in Strömstad, at an an antiques store, and another little store in a small place called Gräbbestad.
The last one was more a barn-outlet really. Just on the way in to town. From the north side.

Ahh alright.. When i think about i would imagine thats the kind of place they would have old razors, they have all kind of old junk there:) hehehe..

A question from a new member. I know there is a wiki but some information is lets say local due to restriction of use of certain chemicals.
What due you use for sterilizing the vintage blades ?
And by the way nice to see onther Swede from right side of Sweden :-)

Hmm thats a hard question actualy. The blades i buy are usualy bad in some kind of way, rost, gunk etc. I end up using sandpaper on all of them so i get new fresh metal comming out and then honing them. I havent realy thought of any way to sterilizing them but my guess for doing it would be to use alco gel or maybe lay them in a bath of "koksalt" and heat it up. Or maybe buy a ultrasonic cleaner ( Ultraljudsrengöring - Wikipedia ). I have to look closer into this subject, it could be good to know:) And also nice to see another Swede here. Take care and happy easter to you!

Cleaning the razors isn't really a big deal, IMHO.
What I do is clean them with a wipe of Alcohol, if at all.
After the Alcohol I just rinse them carefully in some hot water and wipe them dry.
That has worked pretty good for me:)
