Yeah, it is C135 steel. If you go to Rasurpur site you can read the details. A beauty. I wish they had scaled it in horn or something besides wood though. As pretty as it is, I don't like wooden scales.

Nothing really wrong with wood if, like you say, it is finished properly to resist water. I've got a number of them in wood and coat them with Renaissance Wax for a little extra water resistance. I do try my damnedest to keep my razor dry when shaving but feel safer with a water proof scale. They are nice on that one.
That is a beautiful razor, congratulations and I hope you thoroughly enjoy it when it arrives.

just a question that detracts nothing from the beauty and quality of this razor, but:
Why oakwing if it's scaled and boxed in figured maple?
Really just a guess but I think I see oak leaves engraved on the spine.
