RAD gone wild... my collection of razor stuff
Hi folks,
I had the urge to share my rad with the good people here. I'm going to try and post some decent pics of the lengths I go to to satisfy this urge for a decent shave, and razors to be proud of.
Below are some pics of my portable work station and razor equipment, this is the spot I spend too much time at, then some of my wonderful razor rolls (Thanks to LarryAndro!! I love my new Terry Cloth roll!) and their contents.
Most of these razors have been restored by myself, honed by LarryAndro (Thanks Larry!!) and nun2sharp (Thanks Kelly!). Both of these guys are fantastic at helping out their fellows. I recommend them both highly for their attitudes and skills.
You can see the progression of restoration skills clearly evident in the various stages of restoration. Well, I say that, but my photog skills are no improving. Sorry for the quality of some of the pics. The earlier the the dirtier (hey that rhymes!). I have an affinity for Challenge (Razor Works and Cutlery Co.) razors and have 3 in this group.
In the large group of razors are: Challenge Razor Works 4/8, a Bingham Kerry-Gow near wedge 4/8, a Friodur 4/8, a Challenge Razor Works 5/8, Wester-Stone 'Damascas' 5/8, a Boker King Cutter 5/8, Challenge Cutlery Co. 5/8, Wlbert 'Army Special' 5/8, a Wade & Butcher 6/8, and my pride Genco Henry's XX 6/8.
In the small group of un-restored razors are: a Barbers Delight 4/8, an unmarked 5/8, a 4/8 Wostenholm IXL, a Bockla #26 and a Mandarin.

I think it would be most interesting to see other folks's setups.
Thanks for giving me a place to share. No one around here seems to understand the fascination I have with this hobby. It's given me a new direction to put some energy into, and a source of satisfaction as well.
Best always!!
Mike
