Puma 'My Darling' Antique store find
HI all,
Here's my latest find. I got this Puma 6/8+ (probably started life larger than that, has some hone wear) from an antique shop. I got it for less than 100. I didn't really think it was going to be worth it, the scales on the back side are junked. The front scale is not to bad, but I'm not sure I can match it on the backside. I'll be having to recruit some professional help on this one, I really want to keep the Puma mark on the front scale, but don't know if I can.
The etching is still intact, 'My Darling' over 'PUMA' still plainly visible. Maybe not in my pics, but it's there.
The tang is in not too bad of shape, and the loose scales have caused the edge to contact the scales in a few places which will hopefully hone out clean.
No chips or cracks in the blade, so I think I'm pretty happy. That's the most money I've spent on a vintage in this kind of condition, only because of the rarity of Puma's here. This is the first puma I've ever held in my hand.
I'll have to show some more pictures in the 'workshop' when this baby is good to go.
Enjoy!!

I see that you cannot read the backside tang. It reads: Made in Germany from Best Puma-Steel.
The front side reads: 48 Puma Solingen
