ummmm, my first guess was a folding meat cleaver for a butcher making house calls :) WOW! That thing's huge.

My opinion (take it for what it's worth..very little..lol)
The razor looks like it was made by an individual. By that I mean, not a company ie: Wade & Butcher, Wostenholm, ect..
To me it looks like a one time deal (much like a custom maker today).
The tang looks like it may have been forged (hammer and anvil) and the grind is different then most I've seen.
The shape itself is pretty straight forward, all straight lines or very little curve.
No doubt it's a interesting piece:tu
are you sure that this was not a meat cleaver?
Very cool!
It does look to be a "one off" custom that someone made in their shop. To be honest, I don't think it is that old. I wonder about the case though, made for a comb or eyeglasses?
all i know is, when it comes to my signature below .... you win :overkill:
ahhh dang, they took off the signatures. i forgot.
it said "speak softly and carry a big razor"
I think the razor is for shaving Satan ;-)
..well, I don't think it was for trimming ear hair that's for sure.. Nice find though..
Think it's the only thing that'll shave my avatar tbh lol
one thing you fellas seem to be forgetting...... is that people come in sizes...... and something like that could have been a custom job for someone of abnormally large proportions...... think of people like andre the giant..... in his hand a 16oz beer can looked like a salt shaker....
a razor that big would have fit a hand like his.....

I think it's pretty obvious that razor belongs to Sasquatch.
