Wade and butcher question

I picked up an old wade and butcher for a few bucks yesterday and I'm wondering about how old this may be

it is marked "manufactured by wade&butcher Sheffield" and has the Cabrera notch it is a bit over 6/8 and has a 1/4" thick spine the scales are horn it has some slight pitting Here are a few pics sorry for the bad quality had to use my iPhones camera

It's dated before 1890 because it only says 'sheffield' on the tang.
After 1890 they had to put the country next to it like 'sheffield, england'.

It's a very nice razor from what I'm seeing.

Looking at the tail it's definitely after 1840 and looking at the style of blade with the scalloped spine edge I'd say it was before 1880/90. The grind looks to be around a half hollow putting it in the later end of my guestimate which means 186-1870 is about right.

Nice I like old things, the edge needed a little work my highest grit stone is around 3k that I use for my pocket knives (I like em sharp) now I need to buy or make a strop

They started putting manufacturer's markings on the razors around 1830. Worked backs were in style from around 1860. Hollow grinds were the norm from around 1870, and from 1891 country of origin would have been stamped on. I think these factors strengthen holli4's estimate, so my money is all in on his conclusion; 1860-170 regrind. If the worked back was added along with the regrind, possibly a little earlier.
