Default My most recent finds. Trying to Identify one that says: "Made For The Army"

    Hello,

I am fairly new to the acquisition of straights . I can tell you that I am sure I am a lot like the rest of you when I say that I have "The Bug".
    What a great hobby!!

I purchased most of these from a older gentleman that was a barber. Bought the lot plus some that are in really bad shape for $20.00. I think I did well.

Let me know what you think. Any help in Identifying the one with the Olive Drab colored scales that is imprinted Made For The Army would be great.

    Thanks again.

Yes they all came together. I have been hunting for all different types to get myself running into collecting these. Still don't have a favorite brand yet.

Totally off topic but I just saw you were from Williamstown. I'm from Bridgeton! Small world

Anyway, I've been hunting for an Escher / Thuringian hone for a while, but no luck so far. One day...

The one that says 'Made for the Army' and has strange squiggles near the words? That's a John Heiffor. There's some information about them over here.

    Proximus26,

Thanks. I actually have a bunch of hones that I have picked up. I just don't have any idea as to what kind they are of if they are even worth while having. Haven't tried honing yet. Want to badly. Eventually. I guess baby steps.

John Heiffor is obviously the maker of the Made for Army razor. In posting these you might include what is stamped on the tang! Both sides. I strained my eyes looking before I realized that........ Heiffor made fine razors!

    I rest my case.
