For whatever reason, I've become quite impressed w/ the Swedish steel - thanks to the honorable Mikael. They're less common, so I haven't handled as many as the others, but I've yet to see one with any defect yet. It has taken some time to get used to honing them, but like trying to smoke concrete - it may take you 3 hrs to get it lit, but once you do, you're flying. (apologies to Cheech and Chong).
Although Helje may enjoy the status, I've not found any reason they should. Each of the Swedes I've tried have been outstanding. Engstrom, Hellberge, Dahlgren. Each has been really satisfying. 'Hope you enjoy that lovely blade. BTW, my Dahlgren - which also looks fairly old - is clad in ebony also. I really like it.
