nothing special but acquired it today from an antique store for $5. I don't plan to restore it or use it of course, its about used up. Its just the most worn razor I have found and I think its cool that someone, most likely a barber, probably performed hundreds of shaves with this thing and really got some use out of it. The horn looks like its been eaten by something its so torn up. I really like the original bullseye style pin washers on this model.

The dreaded "horn" or dermistid beetles are what ate the scales.
You don't think its cell rot?

Anyway the washers alone might come in handy for you, be nice for some part of that old girl to shave again ;)
Very worn indeed, but you know what? Its STILL able to shave! I would set it to rights, just for the Ships and Giggles of it.

i just stropped it a bit and it was shaving sharp(not as sharp as you would want but you could uncomfortably shave with it) I think ill go on ahead and clean it up and make some nice scales for it. It will give me something to do while I'm sitting around the house "working" from home. And I'm picking up the norton hones I ordered from the local woodworking store tomorrow so that will be fun.
I've got one of that same model, except that mine had essentially no wear at all.

My other W&B has that same etching on the blade and I'm in the process of doing my first ever restore on it now.
Had it been cell rot, I suspect the blade would have returned to its elements and been nothing much more than rust.Quote:

Agree with Wullie! Cell rot is a process of celluloid scales breaking down and giving off a gas that eats up the blade, MAJOR RUST, not the scales themselves. Dubl Ducks are notorious for cell rot.
