Seems I'm never wrong when listings I'm watching mysteriously disappear. Looks like I need to be more aggressive on ebay...

Very interesting scalpel Zak, Charrière was quite the inovator in his time, apprentice to Vincent. It would be interesting to see how good of an edge this tool take since he apparently formulated is own steel.

Perhaps it was part of a Dental set like this one!

Nice Martin.. That looks like some serious pain though.
I've made a couple of offers on ebay, but only when there where no bid on the item. It's the other side of using sniping tools like gixen, some auctions keep a 0 bid state almost the near end, and are possibly take off the bay by sellors.
I'm now securising the items I want by putting a first bid, even if it attracts visibility on them.
I'm sorry I burned you the politess on this one, last time (with the J.Dobby), it was trully a neighbour of mine I visit in person.
It certainly does look like the scapel in that set!
Probably to no one's great surprise, I also have a Charriere razor:

It's a late model though, from after he sold the business to Collin & Co.
Those small razors are surgical razors for pocket sets. If any of you gentlemen decide to rid yourself of one, please let me know. I am trying to put together a set for my reenacting and education purposes.
