Score!
A coworker mentioned finding some straights in the attic of his deceased mother's home recently. I expressed interest and he brought these in.
He says they were probably his grandfather's.
If anyone has any suggestions or knowledge of how old these might be, I'd appreciate learning. Every one says $3 on the box.
Now I need to study up on restoring.

They look like they can be brought back to usable life. What are the tang stamps (brand names) ?

This one is sort of jacked up. Someone ground a small frown near the heal in an otherwise straight blade. Can see some scratch marks from a hone that extend well up the hollow also.

Ok so I scrubbed these babies up a bit. Basically, I just used some warm water and a kitchen sponge to clean some of the ? year old gunk off.
Some cleaed up better than others. http://img.tapatalk.com/4c001b39-9a69-e25e.jpg
This one was the worst. The scales are warped and the pins are loose. The edge contacts the scales upon closing if a guy is not REALLY careful. There is that nasty recurve near the heel (looks like someone attempted repair previously).
I have sense tried my hand at honing and have taken this curvature out of the blade, so it no longer frowns anywhere;)
