Double Duck Special No1
Yea, got RAD bad or is that good. Picked this up locally today after hearing so much about DDs here. It was a chance to try one without breaking the bank. Gave it a light cleaning, tightened the pivot pin and will hone later tonight. Fingers crossed on the honing bit.
Looks like the spine and tang were blued on this one. If I ever strip it down I may try re-bluing those areas. Does anyone know if cold gun bluing will work satisfactorily.

Love my duck. I kept the blue on mine.

To me, the #1 shaves as good as a Wonderedge. That one looks nice. The Birchwood Casy Super Blue works very good.
The perma-blue notsomuch.

Very nice, it appears to be in excellent condition.

Thanks for the tip on the Birchwood Casey Super Blue.
There is still some bluing on her but it was mostly worn off by the time I got her.
Got busy early on the stones, went 3000,8000 and 12000 on Naniwas with 1 layer of tape on the spine. Then said to heck with waiting for morning and did my second 3 pass shave of the day without stropping to road test her. Very nice shave with no irritation. Not bad considering it was the second shave of the day. Somebody who really knew how to hone could make these really sing. Speaking of singing, it has to be one of my noisiest blades. That must be a really hollow grind. Anyhow looks like that is one that worked out and fairly easily too.
