My Collection So far!

Hello Everyone! As you all know, I have been here for about 2 months now. Here is the collection I have accumulated over that time! Let me know what you think of it!

What I have:

2x Strops: 2" Latigo Leather, 3" Cowhide & Cotton

2x Aftershaves: Loriel, Aqua Velva

4x Soaps & Creams: VHD, Williams, C.O Bigelow, Godjre Lime

Brush: VDH Boar :(

5x Razors:

Yellow Scales: M Jung A Piano 4/8 Full Hollow

Green Scales: Union Cutlery 4/8 Wedge

Green & Yellow: Geneva 5/8 Full Hollow

Black: W&B 6/8 Near Wedge

Wood Scales: JA Henckles Friodur 7/8 Extra Hollow


What do you guys think? I think is a pretty nice collection so far. FYI! All but the Geneva were gifts from very gracious members! You know who you are:D

Thanks Everyone for the amazing experience you have given me so far on these forums! I look forward to many more years of great friendships!

Glad to hear it!

The collection is great, but the means of acquiring the razors is IMHO even better. It says a lot not only about this community but about the impact you have made on it in such a short time. :)

Impressive. Most of my money went to outfitting a place to shave. I will say my most recent razor did come from the community. Happy Shaving

Nice collection so far. At your age, if you keep collecting straights, you might eventually have enough time to surpass Sharpton's or Wullie's collections.;)

There's a goal! How large are their collections?

Not to promote RAD or anything and it's a very respectable collection but it seems like you're missing some Swedish steel.

That's a great collection, really nice variety of sizes and grinds.

Have you figured out what your favourite style/size/grind are yet??

I used to know, but then it changed after trying a few other razors....now I just try everything that I can get
my hands on. My fav seems to change every few days now.

Haha yes I like posting on these Forums. Whether I am just active or a no life is a different story:rofl2:

For me, this is how I like my razors.

6/8- Wedge Grind
6/8+ Hollow or Wedge Grind

I prefer the larger blades by far! My favorite one is the Friodur, but I think most of that is the wonderful edge it took off of a Natural Japanese stone! 2 members say that it is one of the best edges they have ever tasted:D

Although I like the full and extra hollows, if I were to buy one right now, it would be lower than 1/4 hollow!

Things are looking pretty good there for ya. I just got my first razor not even a week ago and i have already been rummaging around ebay for the past week to look for razors to start, and expand, the collection i hope to start. This site has been a wonderful tool to get started and they people that make it up have been great.

Nice collection of razors. You need to work on aftershaves and colognes now :). Some sort of Bay Rum is a must.

Have the SRD Bay Rum soap. Smells excellent...wouldnt mind having that scent in a cologne.

I can't turn up my nose at that, well on your way!

Ogallala makes a Bay Rum cologne. Its got a very cinnaminy/clovey scent.

Yes, i just got my Dovo BQ and on the box it says "Swedish Steal" of course being a Dovo its made in Germany though.

Bummer i only have two swedish frame backs.
i got them with the purchase of 15 razors off the ebay.

ahh...yet another thing to add to my list. I gotta get my next paycheck..i wanna start buying!!
