My collection grew ,last week and today.

Last week I picked up these pieces.
1. Naturally I had to have the Friodur Inox,, mint from what I can tell, a very nice W&B with an image on the scales of a man holding a Trident, and a Jaques Le Coultre Au Sentier
2. A Union single pin, Worcester and a 1912 Jos. Hollenger
3. Winner,, no name, and a F. Reynolds
4. A Boker Triple pin, Blue Steel 'independent' with a very nice heat treating colorizing on the shaft to the tail and a very interesting Ek Seb in beautiful scales. The blade will clean up just fine.
5. a W.R. Case that also has very nice scales.
The most expensive group was the first at $40.00 for the three. All the others ( lots of 3) were 30 or less.

Today I picked up these. Now I won't bore you with the entire list but the first row has 7 W&B's,,( two less scales ) another Dbl.Duck Goldedge ( naturally the gold is gone but the blade and scales are great, ,,, there are 3 Jos. Allen non XLL's,,,a Henry Sears & sons "Queen" ,,,,2 De-Fi's ,,,, one stamped with a crown stating Russian Steel, ,, a Mondesir (?),, 2 Robeson sure edges, 2 Torrys, one marked "Our 136" ,,,a Red Imp, ,,,an early Jos. Elliot,,, F. Reynolds,,, and 2 more Ivories.
Except for the one W&B and the Goldedge ( $15 + 22 ) the rest ran between $5.00 and $10.00

As far as keeping busy,, between my own collection and resto's and work for others besides my own business,, yeah,, it'll be a busy winter for sure.

Great hauls! but..man with trident... actually a devil with a pitchfork. (wings might be worn off) Ek-Seb? or Ek-Sel? ...wasnt that made by Case?

Magpie, a devil with a pitchfork,,, sure,, I think it could be, I'll have to look again as it's quite worn. As far as Ek-Sel,, the way the loop connects the E with the L it makes the L look like a lower case B.. I'm sure you're correct as Ek-Sel makes more sense being a stylized version of Excellent,, or Excell. Thanks for the info I really appreciate it finding out more info on these pieces.
Sorry for my error. But I know there are some sharp eyes ( and knowledge out there) to help me along.

If anyone is interested here are the razor Magpie was discussing. He was right on both accounts. I think both Cases' will clean up just fine. But I don't think I'll try and polish up the scales on the W&B,,, work around the symbol and hit the blade.
Thanks again for the info. In my haste ( and to the naked eye ) I overlooked these details.

VERY nice razors!

ONE of these days, I'm gonna have to find a W.R. Case and SON to go along with my great grand fathers old "hobo" knife. The singular "son" stamp was only used on knives between 1903 and 1905.

I could certainly be wrong but I think the razor with the devil is a "Black Demon"? Seems I restored one a year or so ago.

That.......is a lot of razors.

Great finds and great prices. Will you share where you found them or is that like asking a fisherman to tell you where his favorite fishing hole is?

Well you see Randy - as you drove up to find his "spots" - I would already be into his collection lol. Go large they say! I figure I would bypass all the work and get right to his private collection by asking where he lived lol!

No, seriously, I live in Bethlehem Pa. I think guys must have really been into shaving around here. I fall over the most decent finds like you wouldn't believe. But I do treat finding razor as some might treat looking for a job. I network, talk to everyone,, go to markets, search the net ( anywhere but the bay as I've never bought one from there) friends, neighbors, knife shows. One lead leads to another and I just follow it up. Networking, you know. Talk to dealers who give me first shot at finds they make at estate sales before they put them out for sale. Simple stuff really but it all adds up. Other dealers hear of finds,, or stuff another antique dealer picked up and give me a call... it all just works.

Actually Mark, you gave away your info with your links. You need have no concerns about me, but if I were you, I would be worried about earcutter. Keep your alarm system activated at all hours for the next two weeks. He'll cool off by then. :rolleyes:

On a more serious note, I visited your web page and marveled at your work. I did not see the Shroud of Turin replication in your photo gallery. Was it depicted in the picture of Christ on the cross or did you you do another carving?

Nope no , no no nope, did I say no ? I am dduck hunting ! Hmmm nose hairs......no . I got a big drill bit for that. Works just fine after the Honemiester sharpened it. He made me promise not to reveal his id for some reason :<0)
